The Fusiliers in Spain is a group of reenactors and living historians who are dedicated to preserving the memory and
honor of the 1st Battalion, 23rd Regiment of Foot from 1810-1815. The 1st Battalion, 23rd
Regiment (Royal Welch Fusiliers) was one of the eminent regiments of the Duke of Wellington's
army during the Peninsular War and during the Waterloo campaign.
The re-created 23rd strives to portray as acturately as possible the soldiers during the campaigns in Portugal and Spain. This means that a large amount of detail and research goes into each soldier's uniform and gear. The standard kit and uniform of the unit is a living thing that changes as new information is uncovered.
